Zelensky vs. Koretsky: a new internal conflict is growing within Ukraine’s leadership
16.10.2026 05:32EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has endorsed Ukraine’s strikes on Russian oil refineries. The statement was made at the EU summit in Brussels.
This is reported by EurAsia Daily.
According to Kallas, Kyiv is seeking to end the war, and that is precisely why depriving Moscow of exported petroleum products and war financing is the “right path.” The EU’s top diplomat expressed support for continuing attacks on Russian fuel facilities.
“The majority of Russia’s war financing comes from oil revenues. We must put pressure on the aggressor to stop the war, not force the victim into capitulation. Putting pressure on Ukraine is the wrong approach,” — Kallas said.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the resumption of strikes on Russian oil refineries.
In addition, the EU approved the largest package of sanctions against Russia since the start of the invasion.
