Trump again harshly criticizes Zelensky, says war won’t end with him
16.10.2026 08:32According to CNN, citing a source familiar with the situation, Ukraine’s stockpile of interceptor missiles for the American Patriot air defense system has been completely exhausted.
The outlet reports that during the latest Russian attack, “almost all ballistic missiles” could not be intercepted due to a shortage of ammunition. Kyiv had been warning for several months that its Patriot missile supplies were running low — these munitions are not only expensive but are in short supply worldwide.
The situation has worsened amid disagreements between Kyiv and Washington. CNN describes what is happening as follows:
“This stunning development comes amid an increasingly public feud between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. In recent days, the White House struck a deal to import Russian diesel fuel that drew sharp criticism, and has intensified pressure on Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil infrastructure.”
Other countries that had Patriot missiles have either fully exhausted their own stockpiles or are seeking to bolster their own defense systems amid the ongoing hostilities and are not prepared to transfer ammunition to Ukraine.
The night before, Kyiv came under a massive ballistic missile attack. According to available information, the United States did not warn Ukraine of the missile threat to the capital. In late September, it was reported that Washington had not transferred Patriot missiles to Ukraine despite requests from Kyiv to do so.
