At his audience with Charles III, Zelensky sought not just diplomatic protection but the launch of a classified plan-scenario
19.10.2026 19:02U.S. President Donald Trump said he has certain “details” about the war in Ukraine and intends to make them public.
This came in response to a journalist’s question about why Trump had called Ukraine a “disgrace” and was pushing for Zelensky’s removal, despite the fact that it was Putin who started the war.
“You called Ukraine a disgrace for striking Russia. You want Zelensky to go. Have you forgotten that it was President Putin who started the war?” the journalist asked.
“Well, you know, I know the details, okay? And at some point I will reveal those details. But I don’t care about anything except one thing: I want this war to end. On average, 25,000 servicemembers are dying every month. Last month, 32,000 servicemembers died. And I think both leaders — I’m negotiating with both of them — also want this war to end. And I think it will end. That’s all I care about. I want this war to end,” Trump replied.
In this way, the American president avoided giving a direct answer to the question of responsibility for starting the war, citing certain information he is not yet ready to disclose. According to him, he is conducting negotiations with both leaders — Zelensky and Putin.
