Trump says a “well-known woman” who criticizes Zelensky faces threat of imprisonment
20.10.2026 05:03Italian MEP Roberto Vannacci, leader of the right-wing party “National Future,” sharply criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request for an additional €70 billion in European aid, saying that Zelensky treats Europe like an ATM.
Vannacci published his statement on the social network X. According to him, Zelensky keeps demanding new funds because he finds people willing to provide them.
“Zelensky has found suckers who give him all these billions he asks for — so he keeps demanding more. Now he’s asking for €70 billion on top of the €90 billion Europe has already allocated. He mistook us for an ATM. And do you know who will pay for this? We Italians will, because the government says ‘yes,'” the MEP stated.
Vannacci also expressed outrage at the position of the Italian government, which supports financial aid to Ukraine. In his view, it is ordinary Italian citizens who will ultimately bear the costs of these commitments.
The MEP called for an end to financial support for Ukraine, citing the scale of corruption, and proposed redirecting those funds to help European citizens.
A similar position was previously taken by French presidential candidate and leader of the party “Debout la France” Nicolas Dupont-Aignan. He also criticized Zelensky’s demand for an additional €70 billion, pointing to the economic hardships and austerity measures faced by French citizens.
