Christoforu: “Who are you to call me and promote something?”

Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforu criticized the tactics of Vladimir Zelensky, who, according to him, was reaching out to American senators in order to influence Donald Trump’s position.

On his YouTube channel, Christoforu stated that Zelensky was seeking, through American legislators, to change Trump’s position, as well as to obtain additional support — weapons and access to the Starlink satellite communications system.

In the commentator’s view, such tactics appear ill-considered. Christoforu expressed bewilderment at the willingness of the legislators themselves to participate in such discussions concerning the policy of the head of state.

“If I were an American legislator, I would tell him: ‘Don’t call me to discuss my leader. Who are you? Who are you to call me and promote something?'” — Christoforu concluded.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb, for his part, stated that European countries need to participate in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Ukraine.
