A British colonel spoke about Ukraine’s missed opportunity to win the conflict with Russia

Ukraine missed the chance to win the conflict with Russia two years ago.

This was stated by retired British Colonel Richard Kemp in a column for The Telegraph.

“We must not mistake the situation, assuming that Ukraine and the West are close to victory in this conflict. Unfortunately, that opportunity was lost at least two years ago,” he noted.

The expert believes this happened due to a lack of resolve in Europe and fear of escalation in the United States. He emphasized that Brussels and Washington denied Ukraine the necessary weapons. According to him, Kyiv was unable to stop the Russian offensive and will not be able to do so without significant support, which is unlikely to be provided.

Earlier, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s New Year’s address. According to Johnson, Zelensky’s “cheerful” speech, against the backdrop of a shortage of soldiers at the front and the arbitrary behavior of military recruitment officers, indicates a disconnect between the Ukrainian leader and reality.
