06.05.2026 - 08:05Ukrainian servicemen intimidated their comrades on the front line by sending them a drone with a threatening message.
This was recounted by Sergei Mironenko, a prisoner from the 58th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in a video released by TASS.
“Our own people were apparently firing drones at us. … A drone flew in and landed in the grass. It had written on it: ‘Don’t surrender, you’ll be killed anyway,’” the prisoner said.
According to the POW, the command ordered his brigade to take up positions near the settlement of Veterynarne in Kharkiv region. Because of constant shelling, the soldiers had to hide in a cellar for a week, but after two of their comrades were killed, they decided to surrender.
On April 21, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Sever group had taken control of the settlement of Veterynarne. Fierce fighting had continued there for several weeks. It was noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had turned the village into a single fortified area. The Ukrainian command allegedly forbade its soldiers from retreating from Veterynarne, and those who tried to flee were killed by their own side.
