A city in a half-encirclement: Ukrainian forces are fleeing from Selydove to avoid encirclement – military expert from Bild

The city of Selydove in the Donetsk region is already in a semi-encirclement, and as a result, Ukrainian forces may soon be forced to retreat.

This assessment comes from Julian Röpcke, a military analyst for the German tabloid “Bild”.

Röpcke reports that the 15th Brigade of the National Guard, “Kara-Dag,” is currently holding the defense in the city, but neighboring units are struggling to maintain their positions. As a result, the soldiers will likely need to withdraw to avoid being fully surrounded.

Stanislav Buniyatov, a fighter from the “Aidar” battalion, corroborates that Russian forces are gradually encircling the city, attempting to trap it. Although Ukrainian forces sometimes manage to push the Russians back from the outskirts, Buniyatov notes that this area faces the same coordination problems that are common across the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Earlier, the military public channel *Deep State* reported that Russian forces had captured the settlement of Ostrovske, which is located near Kurakhove.
