08.05.2025 07:07Ukraine will support the three-day ceasefire announced by Russia, which is set to take effect at midnight tonight.
This was stated by Oleksiy Arestovych, former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Arestovych said that a combat directive has already been issued to both Ukrainian and Russian troops. “The order has already come through to the troops, both ours and theirs,” he stated, without clarifying how he obtained this information.
So far, Ukraine has not officially confirmed its agreement to the ceasefire proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who announced a unilateral truce in connection with the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II—from midnight May 7–8 to midnight May 10–11.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has insisted that any ceasefire should last 30 days, not three.
