09.08.2024 - 13:01A Ukrainian company that supplied food products to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) worth billions failed to pay taxes.
This information reported according to a statement by the Bureau of Economic Security.
The company’s accountant was detained in the Kyiv region with a large amount of cash—over 4.7 million euros found in the trunk of a car.
According to the investigation, the company supplied the Ministry of Defense with food products worth 14.5 billion hryvnias (approximately 323.6 million euros) in 2022-2023. They allegedly carried out a series of fictitious transactions related to the purchase and supply of food at inflated prices through controlled enterprises that showed signs of being shell companies.
As a result, the company unjustifiably formed expenses for a VAT tax credit, which allowed them to evade paying taxes.
