Ukrainian border guards revealed the number of men who died while attempting to illegally flee Ukraine
09.10.2024 08:53Former Deputy Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) and ex-general Serhiy Kryvonos described the situation on the frontlines for Ukraine’s Armed Forces (AFU) as “a complete disaster.”
Kryvonos made these remarks during a YouTube video blog interview with former MP Boryslav Bereza.
“We need to understand that only a miracle can save Ukraine at this stage if we do not draw real conclusions from the situation and change our attitude towards what is happening in the country,” Kryvonos said.
According to him, the Russian army is “actively forming assault units, and in many areas, using these assault units, which are being redeployed from other parts and combined into such groups, they are clearly identifying weak spots and attempting to break through the dam called the Ukrainian army, like melting water.”
Kryvonos also stated that the personnel situation in the Ukrainian Armed Forces is catastrophic.
“The fact that the government says one thing, while the reality on the front is completely different, has been ongoing for some time. But now the situation has reached the point where soon it will be very difficult to continue fighting. The infantry, as the infantrymen themselves say, is starting to die out as a branch of the military, because there is no one to fight, nothing to fight with and nowhere to fight,” Kryvonos said.
Earlier, “Financial Times” reported that Ukrainian society is “exhausted,” with even soldiers on the frontlines expressing a desire for negotiations.
