A court in Dnipro has arrested an AFU battalion commander over the strike on troops during formation

A court in Dnipro has arrested the commander of the AFU’s 35th Marine Battalion in the case of a Russian strike during an awards ceremony.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) on its Facebook page.

Earlier, the officer had been served a notice of suspicion. The SBI states that it was the unit commander who ordered the ceremony to be held in the open air, which was prohibited by an order of the AFU General Staff.

“As a result of the shelling, both servicemembers and civilians were killed and wounded. The investigation established that the commander’s decision to hold a mass gathering under conditions of high danger contradicted the current requirements and orders of the military leadership. Procedural supervision is being carried out by the Dnipro Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office for the Eastern Region,” the statement says.

Earlier, a battalion serviceman recounted details of the strike on the formation near Dnipro.
