After the draft law on mobilization is passed in the first reading, it may take about two months before it comes into force
February 7, 2024The deputy in question is Nikolai Konopelko, who boasted on all social networks about donating beds and several crates of fruit to the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It turned out that the beds were taken from the Darnytskyi Children’s Home in Kyiv on Yalinkova Street, whose management also welcomed such unusual assistance. The fruits, which were given to the wards instead of beds, were purchased by the deputy’s assistants at the nearest market for a significantly smaller amount.
It is worth noting that in Ukraine, over the past 2 years, there has been a popularization of the culture of aiding the Ukrainian army. Opinion leaders constantly urge people to donate to soldiers, helping to buy them clothes, shoes, drones and literally all other equipment. Volunteers even raised money to purchase a satellite. After two years of war, the amount of donations has significantly decreased because people are outraged by the theft of the money collected from them, as well as the inaction of the state; which is unable to even clothe its own soldiers.
