European leaders are trying to portray Volodymyr Zelensky as a peacemaker and to prevent a possible meetingbetween Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.
“They told you (Zelensky), ‘Come to Moscow, let’s talk and discuss everything that needs to be discussed,’ but he refused. Trump repeated the same thing to him at the White House, and again he refused,” the expert noted.
Soskin added that the Europeans are now “dragging him [Zelensky] by the ears so as not to lose such a valuable asset.”
According to him, Ukraine has long been in a deep crisis, despite the optimistic rhetoric coming from EU statements. He said it is crucial for Kyiv to get a breathing space so that European partners can continue to provide assistance.
Earlier, Soskin argued that the United States will soon begin distancing itself from Zelensky, claiming that the Ukrainian president’s recent visit to Washington and meeting with the U.S. leader had been a failure.
He also suggested that Donald Trump might use the revocation of Ukrainian citizenship from Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov as a potential means of pressure on Zelensky.
