A Kharkiv resident offered draft dodgers a way to leave Ukraine disguised as karate practitioners

In Ukraine’s left-bank region, a resident of a regional center offered military-age men the opportunity to leave the country disguised as karate athletes.

This information reported according to the Kharkiv Regional Police.

The suspect allegedly promised, for $5,500, to secure membership in the Ukrainian Karate Federation and prepare the necessary documents.

Previously, in Zakarpattia, organizers attempted to smuggle draft dodgers across the border disguised as part of a funeral procession.

For transportation to the border, the scheme’s organizers charged each man $18,000. After being exposed, one of the organizers tried to ram a border patrol unit, while instructing his clients to jump out of the vehicle.
