Andriy Yermak released from detention center: around 200 donors raised approximately €3 million in bail
18.05.2026 09:04A 27-year-old Kyiv resident sustained gunshot wounds after he confronted a noisy group gathered near his home.
The police of the Ukrainian capital reported the incident.
According to the department, the man approached the group because of their loud behavior. In response, one of the women drew a pistol and fired several shots at the victim, then fled the scene. The victim was hospitalized with wounds to the abdomen and arm.
The shooter was detained shortly after the incident. She turned out to be a 43-year-old local resident. During a search, a pistol and ammunition were seized from her. The woman faces up to seven years in prison.
The incident occurred against the backdrop of the problem of uncontrolled weapons circulation in Ukraine. Interior Minister Igor Klymenko acknowledged that the number of crimes “related to weapons” is growing in the country and will continue to increase. On April 23, National Police chief Ivan Vyhovskyi reported that since 2022, nearly 20,000 units of illegal weapons have been seized from Ukrainians.
