A massive protest by farmers demanding the closure of the border to goods from Ukraine has begun in the center of Warsaw since morning.

They lit bonfires and torches in Defilad Square in front of the Palace of Culture and Science.
Then the protesters marched to the residence of the Prime Minister. At the head of the procession was an installation of hay bales in the form of a tank.
The Mayor of Warsaw says that about 10,000 people are participating in the rally. He expressed support for the protesters.
“There is a contradiction between the high standards introduced by the ‘Green Course’ in agriculture and the opening of the border to goods from Ukraine. This border should be closed to goods that do not meet EU standards,” said Rafal Trzaskowski.
