Zelensky will try to extend his stay in power through the Constitutional Court
27.02.2024 - 15:55The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology conducted a telephone survey from February 17th to 23rd, where they “examined the prevalence of different narratives potentially threatening national security.”
They investigated Ukrainians’ support for the narrative “The West is tired of Ukraine and wants Ukraine to negotiate with Russia.”
In February 2024, compared to October 2023, the proportion of Ukrainians who believe that the West is tired of Ukraine increased from 30% to 44%.

In all regions, there was a significant increase in the proportion of those who feel that the West is tired and its support for Ukraine is weak. In the South and East, which are closest to the conflict zone, nearly half of those surveyed believe that the West is tired of Ukraine and wants to pressure us for concessions.
Those who believe that the West continues to help Ukraine as much as possible and wants to end the war on terms acceptable to Ukraine are 49%, but this figure has decreased from 76% since 2022. Those who do not believe are 44%; however, given the statistical margin of error of 3.4%, the opinions of Ukrainians are evenly divided.
“The spread of the narrative about the ‘West’s fatigue’ is dangerous because it undermines faith in victory and contradicts the active support of Ukraine by a number of Western countries. However, in conditions where Russia is increasing its production and receiving assistance from other totalitarian regimes, the current support is insufficient. Moreover, Western aid does not always arrive on time.”
“On February 25th, at the ‘Ukraine. Year 2024’ forum, President Zelensky noted that there are currently 4 brigades that have not yet received the promised equipment from 2023. Therefore, we call on the West to move from strong words to strong actions. Ukraine and Ukrainians maintain the will to Victory, Ukraine and Ukrainians strive to continue resisting the aggressor. Ukraine and Ukrainians deserve proper support here and now.”
