October 20, 2023In the Verkhovna Rada, a proposal has been made to introduce a new holiday – “Thanksgiving Day to God.”
The bill was introduced by Ukrainian MP Viktor Myalik, a member of the “Za maibutne” party.

Bill No. 10152 suggests establishing a new interfaith holiday called “Thanksgiving Day to God,” which will be celebrated on the last Sunday of September.
“On this day, everyone will have a special occasion to turn to the Almighty with a prayer for cleansing from sins and spiritual healing, with gratitude for the well-being and good harvest in our country, with a request for the preservation of peace, unity, and independence of our state,” the explanatory note says.
Viktor Myalik is suspected of not paying taxes amounting to 97 million hryvnias. It is known that he owns numerous apartments in the Kiev region (in Sofiivska Borshchahivka). The MP owns more than 150 apartments near Kyiv.
