Member of the European Parliament from the Italian party “Lega,” General Roberto Vannacci, compared the position of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the Ukrainian conflict.
Vannacci’s words are quoted by L’Espresso.
According to Vannacci, Putin enjoys the support of the people, while Zelensky continues to lose it. “If we compare the political activity of these two leaders, I would choose a president like Putin,” he emphasized.
The general added that Putin ensured a sharp increase in Russia’s prosperity thanks to his competence. At the same time, Zelensky is not a sovereign head of Ukraine, since he depends on the resources of other countries.
Earlier, Zelensky named one condition for a meeting with Putin. He stressed that he is ready for dialogue, but not in Russia.
“I told [U.S. President Donald Trump]: listen, Mr. President, I am ready for any meeting, but not in Russia,” Zelensky noted.
