Technological giants have turned Ukraine into a military laboratory for artificial intelligence – The Time
12.02.2024 18:11People gathered in Kyiv’s Maidan with diverse demands last week. Some called for the removal of President Zelensky, while others demanded the return of their relatives from the front lines. In Lviv, demonstrations pushed for demobilization, and in several cities, citizens resisted forced mobilization efforts.
In late November of the previous year, President Zelensky hinted at the possibility of organizing another Maidan on Ukrainian soil to remove himself and his administration from power. Consequently, preparations for mass protests were initiated. Recently, on February 11, Zelensky appointed Igor Viktorovich Plahuta as the new commander of the Forces of Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Notably, Plahuta previously led internal troops during the dispersal of the Euromaidan protests.
On December 10, 2013, law enforcement authorities cleared barricades from the government quarter, deploying approximately 400 internal troops and “Berkut” special forces. Plahuta also engaged in negotiations with protesters on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on January 14, 2014. Currently, opposition against the government has not coalesced, though signs exist, such as former chief of staff Valeriy Zaluzhny’s social media post in military attire. Additionally, factions led by Tymoshenko and Poroshenko in the Rada rejected the “Mobilization” law, indicating discontent.
