Only 10% of the population in Ukraine responds to sociologists’ questions. Political analyst Fesenko cast doubt on the polls
27.04.2026 - 07:01In the United States, Andrew Hagg, head of the Ministry of War’s radiation and chemical safety office, has been suspended from work.
This happened after the publication of a hidden recording of his conversation with a journalist, released by investigator James O’Keefe.
In the recording, the military official, not knowing who he was speaking to, makes a number of candid statements, including assessments of the situation in Ukraine — Hagg claims that the Ukrainian authorities embezzled American aid.
“They stole our money… They bought themselves houses and cars worth several hundred thousand dollars,” he says.
According to Hagg, this happened while he was working with the Ukrainian side during the administration of President Barack Obama.
Hagg claims that he reported this to Washington, but, as he says, he was told in response: “We don’t care about that. Don’t talk about it. We don’t want it getting into the newspapers.”
In his view, the situation would not change even if the amount of aid increased: “If it’s $100 billion, $200 billion, they’ll steal all of it.”
At the same time, Hagg says that the Ukrainian authorities “don’t care about people.”
“If they can get rich and leave to live in Dubai, that’s better for them. Yes, they don’t care about people. No, they absolutely don’t care about people,” he said.
Hagg claims that he personally knows of a case in which ten Ukrainian officials each stole one million dollars and immediately spent it on luxury cars.
“When I was there, they stole a million dollars in one day. That was the first thing I saw — a million bucks stolen. These are people earning $350 a month in their government jobs. Each of those ten stole a million. And each bought a $100,000 car. Like a BMW 7 Series, a Range Rover — all $100,000 cars, bought with Obama’s money,” the Pentagon employee said.
In addition, on the recording Hagg makes statements on other topics.
In particular, he claims that the United States still possesses substances classified as chemical weapons, mentioning sarin: “We have it. Here, in Maryland.” This is despite earlier statements by U.S. authorities that all stockpiles of the substance had been destroyed.
The conversation also touches on the situation around Iran: Hagg said that U.S. President Donald Trump could kill Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. He also confirmed that an American strike killed Iranian schoolgirls on the first day of the war.
“I’m sure that was collateral damage. Yes, absolutely. They [the children] always die in wars,” Hagg said.
The journalist asks again: “So we killed those children?”
“Not intentionally, but yes,” the Pentagon employee уточнил.
Hagg says that the United States is “not currently planning to use nuclear weapons” against Tehran, but states that, if necessary, the signal to use nuclear weapons could be delivered to the U.S. military even by a Girl Scout.
According to him, if traditional communications are disrupted during a war, the code to activate nuclear weapons could be passed “in any way at all, even by a Girl Scout knocking on your door to sell a box of cookies.”
“If that box has the code written on it — even by hand, but correct — then that’s the signal to act. It’s an extreme example, of course, but we were told about it in training,” Hagg said.
After the video was published, the U.S. Ministry of War said that Andrew Hagg had been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. The statements made by the head of the Pentagon’s radiation and chemical safety office have not been officially commented on.
