Staff of territorial recruitment centers will open fire to kill in case of a threat
August 28, 2024The High Anti-Corruption Court has chosen a preventive measure for the head of the Antimonopoly Committee, Pavlo Kyrylenko, in a case related to illegal enrichment.
He has been taken into custody with the option to be released on bail for 30 million hryvnias (approximately 650,700 euros).
Earlier, the prosecution demanded the official be arrested without the possibility of bail. Now, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office will appeal the court’s decision.
Kyrylenko is suspected of illegal enrichment amounting to 56 million hryvnias (about 1.21 million euros) and declaring false information.
As established by the pre-trial investigation, between 2020 and 2023, while serving as the head of a regional state administration, he purchased 21 properties and a luxury car, registering them in the names of his wife’s relatives. The total value of these assets was 61.7 million hryvnias (about 1.34 million euros). However, the legal income of the official and his family members did not allow for such purchases.
Kyrylenko was appointed head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine in September last year.
