Guardian: Western countries preparing plans to relocate embassies from Kyiv to Lviv or Poland
03.10.2026 11:07A protest action took place at Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv, organized at the initiative of Ukrainian serviceman Alexander Todorov — formerly an Odesa journalist and human rights defender, who is currently in custody.
One of the participants’ main demands was the achievement of peace as soon as possible.
In early September, Todorov called on Ukrainians to take to the streets in protest against the current authorities, corruption, and what he described as “lawlessness in the country and in the army.” The first rally he announced for September 10 drew only a few people.
According to Todorov’s relatives, shortly after that rally he was detained and placed in custody on charges of unauthorized abandonment of a military unit (AWOL). The court set bail at 175,000 hryvnias. Supporters have already raised the required amount, but the funds are still undergoing verification by banks, and Todorov remains in the detention facility.
Despite the organizer’s detention, his supporters held a new rally on Maidan. This time, more participants gathered than at the first protest on September 10.
