20.02.2026 - 14:02Major Konstantyn Svyrydov, who is suspected of supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces with spoiled food, bought an apartment on Indonesia’s island of Bali for $190,000 and purchased luxury-brand clothing in Dnipro worth 2.5 million hryvnias (almost €50,000).
This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigations on its website.
According to preliminary estimates, the value of the assets acquired by the officer exceeds 10 million hryvnias. The final amount will be determined during the pre-trial investigation.
A video has been published that allegedly shows the suspect purchasing a villa.
The head of the food service has received an additional notice of suspicion in this case. He is already being held in a military detention facility, with the possibility of release on bail set at 9 million hryvnias. A court hearing on a request to seize his property is expected soon.
As previously reported, the major allegedly financed a lavish lifestyle through a scheme to embezzle funds allocated for feeding servicemen. Svyrydov allegedly acted in collusion with the founder and commercial director of the supplier company.
The scheme involved so-called “paper-only” (non-delivery) transactions: officials signed acceptance reports for the full volume of goods, although in reality only part of the supplies reached military units. The rest was written off through affiliated persons.
In addition to under-deliveries, the participants allegedly procured low-quality food that did not meet established standards. The military—including units on the front line—were supplied with spoiled vegetables and fruit. For accepting substandard goods and ignoring complaints, the major allegedly received kickbacks of up to 50% of the shipment value. In just one week, the amount of illicit benefit could exceed 1 million hryvnias (almost €20,000).
