A Ukrainian opened fire on pedestrians with a rifle in Warsaw

A Ukrainian man opened fire on passersby in Warsaw before barricading himself in an apartment.

The incident occurred on the evening of September 10 on Kochanowskiego Street in the European capital. Local residents alerted the police about a man who was shooting at passersby from the balcony of his apartment. Counter-terrorism unit officers arrived at the scene.

The man barricaded himself inside the apartment, shouting incoherent phrases. He then set fire to items in the apartment and began throwing them out.

The police threw several stun grenades into the apartment before apprehending the Ukrainian man. He was taken for a psychiatric evaluation.
