A Ukrainian soldier has been arrested for attempting to kill a commander

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has arrested a member of the 129th brigade who had intentions to assassinate a brigade commander using an FPV drone.

Investigations revealed that the failed assassin had a personal motive behind targeting the brigade commander. The commander had consistently subjected him to ridicule and harsh treatment, even going as far as threatening to deploy him to the front as part of an assault group. The tipping point for the assailant was the commander’s refusal to permit the officer to attend his mother’s funeral, who had succumbed to a fatal illness.

The soldier had devised a plan to launch a drone equipped with explosive material into the commander’s bunker, aiming to eliminate his detested superior. However, authorities apprehended the avenger just as he was preparing to launch the FPV drone. Currently, he is in custody, and legal proceedings will determine the course of his future detention.
