Soldiers who went AWOL are being deprived of the right to choose which unit they return to – General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
December 12, 2025The city of Siversk in Donetsk region has fully come under the control of the Russian army.
This was stated by a Ukrainian soldier with the callsign Muchnoy, who posted a battle map in his Telegram channel.
“You can clearly see the enemy’s presence everywhere, the city is literally stuffed with enemy rags (flags of Russian troops – ed.) — these are signs of full control! Without a doubt, we can say that Siversk has already broken away and passed into the hands of the enemy,” Muchnoy writes.

“The enemy has already been observed south of the Siversk chalk quarry, and it’s about 27–28 km to Sloviansk <…>. A bitter prospect is gradually taking shape: the line of battle will creep further — toward a new major battle for the Sloviansk direction,” the soldier notes.
Recall that the Kremlin yesterday announced the complete capture of Siversk.
Earlier, Verkhovna Rada deputy Maryana Bezuhla published a battle map, stating that the Russians had effectively seized Siversk.
In recent days, a Bild military observer reported that the Ukrainian defensive line in Siversk, Donetsk region, is collapsing.
