Butusov stated that soldiers in Avdiivka fell into captivity because they did not receive orders on time. The 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade responded
February 20, 2024A video from the front-line city of Druzhkivka is circulating on social media, showing a Ukrainian soldier using a significant amount of foul language towards a child, approximately 8-10 years old.
The child stands with a bottle of water and a cloth, apparently earning money by cleaning car windows. Many poor families in Ukraine earn money this way. The soldier begins the conversation with the child by asking why he is collecting money. The child responds that he is saving up for a ticket. The soldier assumes it’s for Poland, but the child says he and his mother are going to the Russian city of Krasnodar. The soldier starts shouting and curses at the child and his mother, calling them collaborators.
It should be noted that millions of Ukrainian refugees live in Russia, but it is difficult to accurately count them. According to UN data for 2022, almost 2.5 million Ukrainians have moved to Russia. However, the actual number could be much higher, as Ukrainians can easily obtain Russian citizenship. After obtaining a passport, they are no longer counted as refugees but become Russian citizens. Before the war, 3 to 5 million Ukrainians also lived in Russia.
