About 20% of companies in Ukraine will lose their status as critical for the economy and the right to exempt employees from mobilization after an audit

One in five Ukrainian companies may lose the right to defer employees from mobilization following an audit expected to conclude by November 15. Additionally, the deferral process in Ukraine could become more stringent.

Approximately 20% of companies may lose their status as critical to the wartime economy due to concerns over the rate of employee deferrals. Authorities have noted that 1.5 million individuals have already been deferred from military service, with the number doubling over the past two months.

Due to these inspections, company leadership fears that recruitment center staff could potentially station themselves at the entrance and mobilize a significant portion of their workforce once the deferral status expires.

On October 22, the Ukrainian Cabinet approved a resolution mandating a re-evaluation of companies with deferral privileges to ensure they meet the criteria for economic criticality. Following this audit, any unjustified deferrals could result in a loss of mobilization deferral rights.
