Abrams tanks have become easy targets for Russian precision-guided munitions — Military Watch

The Russian army has destroyed another Ukrainian Abrams tank northwest of Avdiivka. After the heavy tank got stuck in the mud, a 152-mm self-propelled howitzer “Msta-S” hit it with a precise strike from a “Krasnopol” guided shell.

As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost another vehicle, further reducing their already dwindling number. Previously, the West had delivered 31 tanks of this type to Kyiv, but there has been no indication of further deliveries, the publication notes.

In recent months, precision artillery munitions have become the primary cause of confirmed Abrams tank destructions. Among these was a vehicle that Russian troops also eliminated with a “Krasnopol” shell in early July, the article emphasizes.

Previously, media reports had surfaced about Ukrainian crews complaining about the low effectiveness of the Abrams tanks. They mentioned technical problems, including the unreliability of electronic components, as well as the vulnerability of the armored vehicles, Military Watch reminds.
