In Poltava, a man was mobilized straight from a gas-station restroom – draft officers broke down the door
25.01.2026 - 16:01On January 23, 2026, former Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office Andriy Yermak resumed his legal practice as an attorney.
This is indicated by information from the National Association of Attorneys of Ukraine.
Yermak had not worked as a lawyer since February 20, 2020, when he became head of the Presidential Office. Before that, his legal practice had lasted nearly 25 years.
Recall that at the end of November, immediately after stepping down as head of the Presidential Office, Yermak gave a comment to the New York Post and said: “I’m going to the front and I’m ready for any reprisals. I’m an honest and decent person.” He did not specify when exactly he intended to go to the front line.
Soon after, there were suggestions that Yermak wanted to use mobilization to avoid criminal liability. However, as the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office stated, he has not received a formal notice of suspicion, meaning he does not face liability at this time.
In addition, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, in a reply to a request from MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak (Holos faction), said that Yermak had not even attempted to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
