Germany, Italy, and the Czech Republic will not send troops to Ukraine after the war
07.01.2026 - 10:31Ukrainian and U.S. delegations will continue negotiations in Paris today, January 7.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this after meeting with Steve Witkoff, a representative of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Zelensky did not specify what the sides reached during that meeting.
According to the president, Ukraine, the United States, and Europe will continue work today on security guarantees and a “basic framework for ending the war.”
Zelensky added that the Ukrainian delegation will include: Head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Budanov; First Deputy Head of the President’s Office Serhii Kyslytsia; NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov; Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov; Servant of the People faction leader Davyd Arakhamia; and presidential office adviser Oleksandr Bevz.
As a reminder, according to media reports, Kyiv and Europe are urging the United States to agree to the deployment of a Western contingent in Ukraine—something Russia has opposed.
