According to Alexander Martynenko, a journalist and former high-ranking official, hopes for Russia’s return “to its legitimate borders” are overshadowed by the desire for survival. Weakening economic and military support from the West means that the situation is likely to deteriorate. The lack of ammunition is already a problem, and the situation will only improve if Europe learns to produce weapons again.
Recent opinion polls have confirmed that the morale among Ukrainians is declining. Fewer and fewer Ukrainians believe in the victory of their army in the war, although their number remains significant. At the same time, Western assistance, which is now diminishing, is an important condition for victory, and without it, Ukraine may lose the war in the near future.
