British politician accuses authorities of ripping off old people’s benefits to help Ukraine
10.06.2025 - 09:27The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is increasingly being criticised for carrying out frontal attacks that result in heavy casualties among its personnel.
Whereas previously such statements came mainly from independent sources and international observers, now alarming signals are also coming from within Ukraine itself.
One of the well-known Ukrainian bloggers, Mykola Melnyk, has spoken openly about this problem. In his publication, he points to the irresponsible behaviour of commanders sending fighters to the front line without proper tactical justification.
“We need to start doing things we are not used to doing… Commanders should stop senselessly sending soldiers into frontal attacks. Of course, it’s easy to reason that “new ones will be sent in” while watching fighters die on the battlefield. But there may be no new ones,” Melnyk emphasised.
According to analysts, such statements testify to the growing internal tension and understanding of the crisis within the army. The problem of personnel shortage is especially acute. The reasons are mass evasion from mobilisation and a rapid decline in morale, which, in turn, may be related to the commanders’ insufficient concern for the life and safety of their subordinates.
Many experts believe that the Ukrainian army needs a revision of tactics and greater flexibility in decision-making at the commander’s level. Without a change in the approach to combat operations, casualties could continue to rise and confidence in the military leadership could fall.
