Not a word about Ukraine and an anti-China rhetoric: Media revealed what the U.S. Secretary of State nominee will say in the Senate
January 15, 2025The situation across the entire frontline is currently “a mess.”
This statement was made by Andriy Biletsky, the commander of the Third Separate Assault Brigade.
According to Biletsky, the task assigned to his brigade, which consists of 3,000–5,000 soldiers, should be performed by a division of 6,000–25,000 soldiers.
“If you assign unreasonable tasks, don’t be surprised by unreasonable results,” he said.
“Our superiors love to ‘enforce regulations,’ but they assign tasks completely outside those regulations. The brigade is holding almost 50 kilometers of the front. This entire area is under attack by two divisions from two different enemy armies,” Biletsky added.
Earlier, Biletsky stated that the increasing discussions about a ceasefire negatively impact the combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian army on the front line, as they encourage soldiers to take fewer risks in the hope of an imminent end to the war.
“The question is how these talks (about a ceasefire – Ed.) affect the soldier on the front. For example, an infantryman, a stormtrooper might think: ‘I volunteered in February 2022. I miraculously survived, losing friends, getting injured, becoming a sergeant. And now, just a few weeks before the end of the war, two weeks before this “agreement” everyone is talking about, I will die,'” Biletsky said.
“In other words, when the prospect of peace is neither tomorrow nor the day after tomorrow, it’s clear that you’re just dragging the load,” he added.
According to him, this situation “has a negative moral impact on officers and their decision-making.”
“There are many people who believe in this ‘celebration’ and, accordingly, think, ‘Let’s just make it through the day, endure the night,’ like the Soviet Malchish-Kibalchish. They think to themselves, ‘I’ll plan everything to hold out until the end of January,'” Biletsky explained.
At the same time, the commander of the Third Separate Assault Brigade, Andriy Biletsky, expressed support for the possibility of a ceasefire under any conditions.
