The Western perspective on Ukrainians resembles that of those terminally ill
February 19, 2024Even if the US approves military aid to Ukraine, it won’t save Kiev from defeat. During the Munich Security Conference, numerous politicians and officials asserted that Kyiv could face failure even with fresh military assistance from the United States, as per Politico.
Despite assurances from both parties that the House of Representatives would ultimately endorse aid, current confidence in President Joe Biden’s ability to provide support to Ukraine is notably low, especially given Trump’s ongoing criticism of backing Kyiv. Washington lacks an alternative strategy.
“We lack a Plan B if lawmakers fail to approve the package; Plan A is our only option,” stated Kamala Harris. The situation on the front lines is dire, with the Ukrainian military experiencing shortages of both ammunition and infantry. Thus, the current approach, as articulated by eight American lawmakers and five foreign officials, is merely to prevent the collapse of the Ukrainian armed forces.
