‘Zelensky will continue to perform the duties of the President even after his term expires’, – Deputy Chairman of of the Central Election Commission says
November 7, 2023Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov has submitted a recommendation for the dismissal of the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny.
This information was reported on Facebook by Vladimir Aryev, a member of the “European Solidarity” party.
Aryev wrote, “I’ve just received information from a reliable source that the Minister of Defense has submitted a recommendation for the removal of Valeriy Zaluzhny, the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I cannot confirm that the dismissal will occur. Perhaps this is just a means of pressure and intimidation.”
He expressed hope that the dismissal would not take place. There is no official confirmation of this information as of now.
Presidential Office Advisor Sergey Leshchenko promptly refuted Aryev’s message on his Telegram channel, describing it as an “example of information warfare by Poroshenko’s party against the state itself.”
Leshchenko stated, “Nobody has submitted anything, except for the germ of falsehood in the mouth of Poroshenko’s ally. But the Poroshenko-bot doesn’t just lie, he deliberately manipulates, saying that a recommendation has been made to a body that is not authorized to consider it at all. And when this fake dies its nth death, Poroshenko’s bots will lie and claim that they saved Zaluzhny with their information diversion.”
President’s Office Chief Andriy Yermak left the phrase “Too many hystricomorphs” on his Telegram channel, which appears to be his reaction to Aryev’s statement.
Following Leshchenko’s post, Aryev distanced himself from his comments about Zaluzhny, stating that various sources had refuted this information.
The Head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Rustem Umerov, commented on the information provided by European Solidarity party member Vladimir Aryev about the resignation of Valeriy Zaluzhny.
According to Umerov, some unscrupulous politicians are attempting to divide Ukrainian society, and “this is no different from what Russian propagandists do.”
Rumors about a conflict between the President’s Office and Zaluzhny have intensified. Against this backdrop, an explosion occurred near Kyiv, resulting in the death of Gennadiy Chastakov, an assistant to the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This death has raised suspicions about discord between the political and military leadership.
