October 17, 2023In Ukraine, over the past year, the number of people who believe that the West is growing tired of Ukraine, that the government is ready to make unacceptable compromises with Russia, and that there is a conflict between the military and political leadership of the country has increased.
These findings are based on a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
Regarding the weariness of the West with Ukraine and the weakening of support, 30% of those surveyed expressed this view, compared to 15% a year ago. On the other hand, 63% believe that the West continues to assist Ukraine and wants the war to end on terms acceptable to Kyiv.
The willingness of the government to make “unacceptable compromises” with Russia was believed by 5% a year ago and has now increased to 12%. However, 80% do not believe in this willingness.
In terms of conflicts between the political leadership of the country and the military leadership, 32% believe in such conflicts, a significant increase from 14% the previous year. Meanwhile, 54% believe that the military and politicians are acting as a unified team.
