27.12.2025 14:01Former head of the Kharkiv department of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), Roman Dudin, has been hit with a new charge after attempting to secure release from custody on bail.
This was reported by Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigations.
“A suspect in high treason paid more than 4.2 million hryvnias (nearly 85,000 euros), but law enforcement served him with a new notice of suspicion,” the statement said.
The SBU officer was released from pre-trial detention on bail, but he was then presented with a new charge and immediately taken back into custody. The accusation is linked to organizing the illegal seizure of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration building and an attempt to remove its leadership in February 2022.
Earlier, former SBU officer Ivan Stupak said Kyiv is unable to maintain an army of 800,000 troops.
