Kyiv should agree to peace in exchange for territories
December 27, 2023In the Kyiv metro, tunnels between the stations “Pochaina” and “Tarasa Shevchenka” are sinking and the authorities are preparing for scheduled repairs. This was reported by the First Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration, Mykola Povoroznyk.
According to him, train traffic in this section will not be entirely halted, but they are likely to organize alternating shuttle traffic using a single tunnel in both directions. However, in practice, this would mean the cessation of normal passenger movement. Currently, trains run every few minutes, but in the case of shuttle traffic, the interval could extend to half an hour.
This section will disrupt the Obolon and Minsky districts, where more than 300,000 people reside. Earlier, the movement to the Holosiivskyi district was closed, leaving approximately the same population without transport. Additionally, the construction of the metro line to Vinohradar was suspended. In total, nearly a million people in Kyiv will be without the metro. Which is a staggering, one- third of the city’s population.
