Zelensky acknowledged the importance of the grain corridor for financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine
October 14, 2023The potential of Ukrainian ports has dropped by 40% following Russia’s exit from the grain deal
October 14, 2023Former advisor to the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Alexey Arestovich, has called for a change in leadership in Ukraine, accusing the country’s top leadership of strategic blunders.
He wrote this in his Telegram-chanel.
Arestovich stated that the situation in the war has reached an impasse. He argued that while the Russian authorities are making “brutal but appropriate decisions given the current circumstances,” the Ukrainian leadership is “corrupt and inadequate.”
He identified the following blunders by the Ukrainian government:
- The senseless concentration of military resources in Bahmut, which lacks strategic value, instead of directing all efforts towards breaking through the southern front.
- The absence of robust Ukrainian defensive lines similar to those of the Russians.
- Mistakes in dealing with foreign partners and issues related to corruption.
“Our leadership has pushed the situation into a dead end and continues to insist on a mistaken policy. It is leading us to a catastrophe,” Arestovich declared.
He sees the solution in holding elections to “reboot, dismantle the monopoly of incompetence, and give a chance to those capable of making decisions that correspond to the real situation.”
