Ukrainian authorities are preparing to increase taxes for individuals and businesses
March 7, 2024The Ukrainian parliament has plunged into crisis and cannot convene for a session
March 7, 2024A group of lawmakers, led by Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick and Jared Golden, aims to bring a package of foreign aid measures to a vote, which includes funding for Ukraine and Israel.
This information reported by The Washington Times.
The aid to Ukraine would amount to $47 billion, while Israel would receive $10 billion.
They threaten to do so without the consent of Mike Johnson, if he does not agree. For this, they would need a petition with 218 signatures, after which consent would not be required, and the package would be brought to a vote. Johnson has been given a kind of ultimatum – the decision must be made by Friday.
The goal is to introduce amendments to the bill. However, the project does not include funds to “stop the flow of illegal migrants.” Thus, lawmakers aim to pit parties “against each other” in order to ultimately solve the problem.
