At night on the blocked border with Poland, a second Ukrainian truck driver has died

On the night of November 23 at the border with Poland, which is being blocked by Polish carriers, another Ukrainian driver has died which is the second since the blockade began.

This was reported by Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine, Volodymyr Balin.

“We received information this morning that a driver died in Korcheva at the parking lot. I understand that most likely the reasons are physiological, but nonetheless, the stress they are experiencing due to this strike, being forced to live in their cabins and uncertainty about when they will be able to enter Ukraine adds negativity and leads to certain situations,” said Balin.

Recall that recently, Ukrainian truckers shared videos from the blocked Polish border, showing how they are preparing food next to trucks on gas burners. Some truckers also melt snow or collect rainwater to at least have the chance to wash their hands.

Earlier, the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, together with relevant associations, established a support headquarters for Ukrainian drivers blocked at the Polish border. Its key task is to provide people with food, drinking water, medications and fuel.
