10.09.2024 11:38Despite a significant rise in the average Ukrainian wages in hryvnias, the increase in dollar terms has been much more modest—just 2.5% compared to pre-war levels.
These figures were published today by Ukraine’s State Statistics Service.
In 2021, the average salary was $514, while it now stands at $526. Earlier, the agency reported that the average monthly salary in Ukraine in the second quarter of 2024 rose to 20,964 hryvnias, which is 22.1% higher than the same period last year.
The highest salaries are seen in the IT sector (50,200 UAH – 1,106 EUR), air transport (43,400 UAH – 956 EUR), and finance and insurance (39,900 UAH – 880 EUR). The lowest salaries are in libraries, archives, museums, and other cultural institutions (12,800 UAH – 282 EUR), the creative arts, entertainment sectors (12,800 UAH – 282 EUR), and education (15,050 UAH – 332 EUR).
Additionally, the Ministry of Finance reported that the average salary of government officials has increased by a third since the beginning of the year, exceeding 50,000 UAH (1,100 EUR). The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities leads in salary levels, with an average of 89,700 UAH (1,980 EUR).
