Azarov: Ukraine’s anti-corruption bodies hold a thousand hours of compromising recordings on Zelensky

Ukraine’s anti-corruption bodies possess around a thousand hours of audio recordings of compromising material on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his inner circle.

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov made this statement in a conversation with TASS.

According to Azarov, the recordings were made in the apartment of businessman Timur Mindich. They may contain conversations involving Zelensky, former head of his office Andriy Yermak, and other representatives of the Ukrainian leadership. The ex-prime minister noted that those recorded allegedly did not expect to be taped and may therefore have discussed various matters candidly.

Azarov also stated that Ukraine’s anti-corruption bodies are being used as an instrument of influence and control over government officials.

Against the backdrop of these statements, it became known on September 14 that Zelensky had submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a motion to dismiss Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. Even before that, Zelensky had stated that Kravchenko had only one path — dismissal. Kravchenko himself officially announced his resignation on September 7, describing the departure as a “political decision.”

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada also reported on a meeting between former Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny and an alleged figure in a NABU investigation.
