Russia announced a long-term pause in negotiations on Ukraine due to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive in Kursk
14.08.2024 - 10:43The authorities of the Mykolaiv region are reporting an increasing debt owed by consumers to public utility companies.
As of the beginning of August this year, more than 29,000 cases have been opened due to non-payment of utility services (at the beginning of the year, the total debt amounted to 241 million hryvnias, or 5,332,366 euros). In this regard, the region ranks 8th in the country (Ukraine has a total of 701,000 cases, with Dnipropetrovsk region holding the top spot with over 100,000 cases).
Given the current situation, the regional leadership is urging the population to pay off their debts for water and heating services, but this measure has not yielded positive results.
As a consequence, the possibility of blocking the bank cards of debtors is currently being considered.
