March 8, 2024Ukraine may lose and the West may be drawn into the war
March 8, 2024Germany confirmed that the dispatch of troops to Ukraine was discussed, but Berlin does not consider such an option, nor does it plan to transfer Taurus missiles. This was stated by the country’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
“No one wants to deploy ground troops to Ukraine. Of course, this is being discussed. There is a decisive line here that we will not cross. We will not become a party to the war. And that is why Taurus has not been delivered yet,” Defense Minister Pistorius said. He added that long-range missiles will not be decisive in the war. Chancellor Scholz has repeatedly expressed reluctance to supply these missiles.
Earlier, France initiated the proposal to send troops to Ukrainian territory, while Britain pressured Germany to transfer Taurus long-range missiles to the Ukrainian army. However, Berlin continues to resist international pressure and attempts to prevent escalation of the conflict.
