October 14, 2023President Joe Biden stumbled on a staircase once again, this time when attempting to ascend a stage at an event in the state of Philadelphia.
As seen in the event’s broadcast, the 80-year-old American leader, who intends to run for re-election in 2024, had to climb just about five steps to reach the stage. In late September, Axios reported that Biden has been increasingly wearing tennis shoes due to his frequent public falls. It was noted that the president’s team was taking additional measures to prevent him from stumbling or falling in public, especially with upcoming elections on the horizon.
In June, Biden fell at a graduation ceremony for Air Force Academy cadets in Colorado, tripping over a box at his feet.
In private conversations, some high-ranking Democrats have expressed dissatisfaction with Biden’s team for several months, citing his fall at the Air Force Academy and noting that the president often appears unsure of where to go after delivering speeches.
Politico previously reported that Biden has been using a shortened folding ramp more frequently during flights.
In March 2021, President Biden stumbled three times while boarding his plane. The White House attributed the mishap to strong winds and reassured the public that Biden was feeling fine.
In June 2022, Biden stumbled again while ascending a plane’s staircase. In the same month, he fell off a bicycle. In February 2023, he tripped and fell forward while boarding a plane at Warsaw Airport. In March of the same year, he stumbled once more while ascending a plane’s staircase at an airbase in Alabama.
