The White House may agree to temporary budget without aid to Ukraine
November 15, 2023Due to the Polish carriers’ blockade at the Ukrainian border, the expenses for transporting goods from Poland to Ukraine have surged threefold.
Before the blockade, moving a 22-ton cargo from Gdansk’s port in Poland to Kyiv cost around 1000 euros. Presently, prices have soared up to 4000 euros, as stated by a transportation company representative.
The price hike wasn’t initiated by the carriers themselves but by the cargo senders. Their aim was to attract transportation companies for their services. One carrier mentioned that due to extensive queues, many Ukrainian carriers are declining trips to Poland. Consequently, goods are accumulating rapidly at ports, requiring swift clearance from warehouses. For shipments from Gdansk to Kyiv, companies are ready to pay between 3700 to 4300 euros.
